Goldsmith Birdhouses

There are all kinds of great bird houses on the market but some are most certainly superior to others in craftsmanship and quality and the Goldsmith birdhouses would certainly be one of those.

If you love the architecture of the past and appreciate the value of these great old buildings then you’ll love the architectural reproductions that this company does using reclaimed lumber that is usually more than 150 years of age.

Now isn’t that a neat concept? Not only are we talking about a walk back in time for design we are talking about materials that are truly antique. What a great combination!

Karl Goldsmith is the heart of Goldsmith birdhouses with his passion for creating beautiful art that is rich is architectural history. His pieces focus on the early American architecture and landscaping preserving the history of an era long gone.

Now you’ve got to admit there’s nothing quite like capturing the spirit of America in a birdhouse. Now that’s art! Within these birdhouses you’ll find a tale of an earlier life that was much more simplistic, more in touch with nature, and so much more cozy. Small towns where everyone knew each other. Farming communities where the spirit of sharing and helping was strong.

One of Goldsmith’s most famous birdhouses is the reproduction Edward Ellwanger Estate House which was originally designed by Fletcher Steel an architecture that had designed more than 700 gardens throughout his career that lasted more than 60 years.

Now what’s so unique about this situation is the birdhouse that Steel designed for the gardens of Ellwanger. This birdhouse stood more than 5 feet in height and gained quite a reputation in its era.

It is the Ellwanger Birdhouse that Goldsmith has reproduced and it’s one of his most famous pieces. Of course there are plenty of others.

Mustard Gambrel Barn, White Honey House, Mustard Salt Box, Little Red Schoolhouse, Whaling Church, or the Pink Honey House are a few of the other favorites that never go unnoticed.

If you really have an appreciation for the past combined with bird houses you won’t be able to stop with just one. Soon you’ll find yourself the proud owner of several Goldsmith Birdhouses. And it’s great because I’ll bet your neighbors aren’t nearly the art coinsure you are!
