Church Birdhouses
There is something so peaceful about watching the birds flit around chirping and carrying on perhaps enjoying a bath or building a nest. And what could be more peaceful than adding church birdhouses to that picture.
And there are some great church bird houses on the market. In fact so many that you could actually start a collection if you wanted to. Don’t believe me then do a google search for “church birdhouses” and you’ll discover more than a quarter million matches.
These houses are great for the garden, back yard, patio, and deck. They are bright and cheery with each church having it’s very own characteristics.
Whether you are looking at the fabulous international chapel, the country church, that rustic church, the Roman Catholic church, or even a Gothic church choose the one that will fit your décor. Heck why not mix it up a little?
There are a few things you should watch for before making your purchase to ensure your bird house is up to snuff.
1. Hinges – are very important either on the roof or side so that you can give the house a good cleaning at least once a year.
2. Material – make sure the material used in the house is not toxic to the birds.
3. Finishes – make sure the material used to finish the bird house is not toxic to the bird.
4. Avoid Metal – which can become too hot and pose a health risk to the birds.
5. Drain and Vent– the bottom of your house should have a drain hole and there should be a couple of small vent holes on the wall.
6. Don’t Crowd – birds like their space so be sure not to crowd your residents. Place bird houses at least 25 feet apart and make sure they face different directions.
7. Protection – your house needs to have an overhang to protect from the elements and to keep predators out.
Church birdhouses are a great way to add a little charm to your yard and even though those beautiful birds are extremely peaceful why not add just a little more relaxation?
