Birdhouses are a great way to add a little character to your yard and invite some of your local bird friends to stick around. And you can buy birdhouses online for some great prices that are much better than your local stores can offer.

The first thing you need to decide is what type of birdhouse you want. Are you looking for a birdhouse for a specific type of bird? Do you want a birdhouse that’s ready to use or do you want to build it yourself? Or perhaps you just want to do the finishing touches?

Once you decide what it is you want you’ll be able to do a couple of quick searches and find plenty of options. Whether you are looking for a cozy one bedroom or a large family home you’ll find the perfect birds houses for your yard and the types of birds that live near you.

Don’t be surprised if the birds snub your home. Some of them can be very fussy about where they nest. The holes have to be just the right size; some don’t like colorful houses preferring houses that blend with the trees, while others don’t mind them at all. Add a couple of bird baths and a couple of bird feeders and suddenly you’ve got a paradise for birds and as the old saying goes “build it and they will come.” Birds are no different. Provide them with a safe area that has everything they want and is safe from predators and the birds will arrive.

You’ll be the envy of all your neighbors or perhaps they’ll be able to enjoy your bird sanctuary too if your fence isn’t too high.

Why not invite the robins, bluebirds, chickadees, swallows, hummingbirds, or what ever birds are native to your area? Putting up the birdhouses is much like posting a “for rent” sign. Before you know it you’ll have a full house. The only disadvantage is you don’t get to collect the rent but you can take payment in the enjoyment of watching these beautiful creatures at play and at work.
